Hey, who would have thought it. I actually have the keys to my new condo now. Man - there has been so much fucked up stuff about this process that I almost wouldn't have done it now that I have gone through it all -- but I'm glad to be finally in. I don't know where to start journalling this. Maybe I should just do a list of things that have not gone right.... 1) Put in the initial offer, but it was rejected due to the fact that I was going to have an FHA loan. So - we increased the offer (to a little bit more than the asking price) and then we were accepted. Anyway 2) After we were about to close the deal, I was contacted by my loan guy who said the property was no longer FHA approved -- so our loan fell through. This was 2 days before it was supposed to close. 3) Tried to get our apt. lease extended for an extra month - no go. Someone had rented our apartment already. 4) Kept getting told that "something would happen soon". This mysterious soon kept being later and later... 5) Finally got new loan, but interest rate was .25% higher than the initial was. Also, because of when we were closing, the closing costs were $2000 more. 6) Because it was $2k more, I didn't have enough for the down payment. This resulted in the cash advance on the credit card.... 7) A while back, I had bought a PS2 from Amazon.com . We quickly realized we couldnt afford it, so we returned it unopened. Of course, the $500 was not credited back to my account until yesterday... so... 8) We have been living off of a credit card. 9) The cable guy wouldnt install our Road Runner cable modem on the computer of the previous owner. We are without cable service at this time as well. 10) We went to go pick up the keys at noon today (they were supposed to be ready at 10am) and they weren't there. Anyway. I own a condo now. Tomorrow morning everything we own should be arriving while I type away at work. I hope there are no more snags... |
